Homeless No More Kicks Off Annual Holiday Shop for

Homeless Families with Children

COLUMBIA, S.C. (December 5, 2025) — Homeless No More (HNM) will begin their annual Holiday Shop event on Monday, December 8 at St. Lawrence Place, providing homeless families with a unique shopping experience this holiday season.

Families that currently reside at Family Shelter and St. Lawrence Place will choose from hundreds of new gifts, giving them the opportunity to “shop” for each other rather than the typical “adopt a family” approach. The event is a 20-year tradition modeled after Warren Village, a non-profit organization serving homeless families in Colorado.

Parents will shop for their children on December 8 from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. and December 9 from

11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. On December 10, children will pick out gifts for their parents and siblings beginning at 3:30 p.m. The shop is set up in the St. Lawrence Place activities room located at 2400 Waites Road.

“We value this tradition that lets the homeless parents and children in our programs shop for each other,” said HNM President and CEO Lila Anna Sauls. “We continue to be overwhelmed by the generosity of our community that creates such a wonderful holiday experience.”

Holiday Shop is made possible through the generosity of Midlands churches, community groups, and corporations. Each day, volunteers will donate their time wrapping gifts for the families. On December 10, volunteers will assist the children as they shop and provide a hot chocolate bar for them to enjoy. The HNM team, including Sauls, will also be in attendance.

Holiday Shop kicks off a month of special events and activities that bring joy to families in HNM’s system of care during the holiday season.
