COVID-19 Information

At Homeless No More, we believe there is good in everyone. And unprecedented times can bring out the best in people. We’re seeing this unfold on our campuses, as we maneuver through the ever-changing COVID-19 public health emergency. The Homeless No More team is humbled by scores of you reaching out to check on our families and offer assistance. Please know: We are still here at St. Lawrence Place, Family Shelter and Live Oak Place doing the work of helping homeless families and children, and we plan to continue meeting their needs as we move forward.

  • To provide additional care for our students located across four school districts, we’ve extended our children’s program until school resumes full time with our e-Learning Academy. Since homeless children are eight to nine times more likely than their housed peers to repeat a grade, we’re doing all we can to make sure our children don’t fall behind. Our full-day program offers a safe environment with e-learning support, wifi, tutoring, and outside play. We also check-in with the children who are older and working from their own apartments.

  • Over 80% of our families lost work due to COVID. To help our parents get back to work and gain financial independence, we’ve added a Job Coach to our staff. The HNM Job Coach meets with families regularly and helps facilitate employment opportunities. She also assists with writing resumes and preparing for interviews, and helps our parents enroll in continuing education programs.

  • We continue to take updated safety precautions for our families, children, and staff. All families and staff follow strict safety guidelines including the use of PPE, social distancing guidelines, and regular health checks. We’ve installed no-touch lighting at our shelters, deep clean all buildings regularly, and have placed hand sanitizing stations around campus.

  • Homeless No More is working hard to protect our families, children and staff. To decrease the number of individuals on our campuses, all in-kind donations should be dropped off at the Middleburg office location (2711 Middleburg Drive, Suite 213) Monday-Friday between 8:30am-4:30pm or sent to our office via our Amazon Wish List. All donated items will be disinfected before taken to our families.

Much-Needed Donations

Now more than ever, your monetary and in-kind donations are critical and tremendously appreciated. We need cleaning supplies, disinfectant spray and antibacterial soap to make sure our families and staff are protected, as we diligently work to keep surfaces and hands sanitary. Our families continue to have a need of diapers, toilet paper, paper towels, other paper goods from our supply closet.

Your contributions are so critical during this time. Please donate here or visit our Amazon Wish List to have items sent directly to our office. Checks can be mailed to Homeless No More, 2711 Middleburg Drive, Suite 213, Columbia, SC 29204.
